Two-day ROAR on Storify
First-Year Experience Coordinator Andrea Zick rewards students and encourages them to use social media during the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Ranger Orientation, Advising, and Registration (ROAR) events.
Zick awards prizes to ROAR participants who use Twitter, Facebook, and Foursquare to share what they like and what they learn throughout the day.
The university held its first two-day ROAR in more than a decade July 22-23. Kelley Bellin, director of College Access, Readiness, and Transition, and sophomore ROAR Leader Ericka Gonzalez, used the social media application Storify to assemble tweets, photos, posts, and check-ins into one narrative and share the "story" of the two-day ROAR. Check out the Storify story.
