The University of Wisconsin-Parkside Enrollment Management (EM) team is one employee stronger while a familiar face has some new responsibilities in the Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE).
Valerie Zahorski Schmidt joins UW-Parkside as Enrollment Management Marketing and Communications Coordinator. Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management DeAnn Possehl said Schmidt previously served as a web content, collaboration, and communications analyst for the Minnesota State Colleges and University system. There she led all internal and external strategic communication along with web site restructuring, innovation, and branding for the Office of the Chancellor.
"Valerie is excited about utilizing her communication and marketing skills at a campus level," Possehl said.
Schmidt begins her new assignment Monday, Aug. 13.
Meanwhile, the OIE announced the appointment of Jordania Leon-Jordan as University Business Specialist and Lecturer for the College of Business, Economics, and Computing. Most recently, she served as OIE's project manager.
"Ms. Leon-Jordan has distinguished herself at UW-Parkside through her project management capabilities and, in particular, her support of the academic reorganization initiative, the integrated resource management process, and leading business process improvement efforts," said Assistant Vice Chancellor for Institutional Effectiveness Kim Kelley.
Leon-Jordan holds a Master of Business Administration from UW-Parkside and bachelor's degree from UW-Stevens Point.
