Sept. 5 webinar: Enhancing Academic Productivity

UW-Parkside faculty and staff are invited to the free webinar "Enhancing Academic Productivity in Higher Ed: Best Practices & Lessons Learned" Wednesday, Sept. 5, in the Galbraith Room of Wyllie Hall. Presented by the American Council on Education (ACE), the program is free and begins at noon.

Recent technological advances have dramatically changed the way instruction is delivered across the globe. ACE invites you to an informative on-campus webinar discussing advances in distance learning and innovative tools and models to foster increased student learning and enhanced academic productivity.

The webinar brings together two experts: Jorge Klor de Alva, president of the Nexus Research and Policy Center, and Open University Vice-Chancellor Martin Bean.

The Nexus Research and Policy Center, an independent, nonprofit, non-partisan institution, promotes access to higher education and educational success with demonstrable learning and degree completion achievement. Nexus is committed to studying and supporting underserved students and the institutions that educate them. The Open University is a world leader in modern distance learning and a pioneer of teaching and learning methods. With more than 250,000 students enrolled, it is the largest academic institution in the United Kingdom and one of the largest in Europe. The Open University is also one of only three UK higher education institutions to gain accreditation in the United States by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

The Washington, D.C.-based American Council on Education presents the webinar as part of its Making Productivity Real Initiative.
