August 29 is Campus Volunteer Day
Wednesday, Aug. 29, University of Wisconsin-Parkside faculty and staff will join with Facility Management personnel for the first-ever Campus Community Volunteer Day. And now is a great time to volunteer! Call event coordinator Don Kolbe at extension 2232.
Starting at 10 a.m. and continuing until noon and again from 1 to 3 p.m., the clean-up crews will be sprucing up the campus by
- Renewing the prairie through weed removal
- Refreshing the Alumni Garden
- Cleaning campus signs, and
- Collecting trash and removing underbrush on bike trails
The more adventurous volunteers will be helping restore campus picnic tables. Skilled volunteers are needed for this assignment due to the use of power equipment.
Meet at the south plaza of the Student Center. Transportation is provided to remote sites and refreshments are provided by the Student Center staff. Aug. 31 is our rain date.
