Busy weekend of Ranger athletics

UW-Parkside rugby hosts Michigan Tech Saturday.

UW-Parkside rugby hosts Michigan Tech Saturday.

The fields and courts at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside will thunder with the pounding of player's feet, the hammering of killed volleyballs, and roar of the crowds Friday, Sept. 28 through Sunday, Sept. 30. Men's and women's soccer, volleyball, and rugby present a wealth of opportunities to join the chant of "Go Rangers!" as our student-athletes compete. The schedule includes:

Men's soccer:

Friday, Sept. 28 vs. Bellarmine University at 1:15 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 30 vs. McKendree University of Illinois at noon

Women's soccer:

Friday, Sept. 28 vs. Bellarmine University at 3:30 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 30 vs. McKendree University of Illinois at 2:30 p.m.

All games are at Wood Rd. Field. Admission is free to UW-Parkside students with a university ID, $5 for adults, $3 for high school students.

Volleyball:

Friday, Sept. 28 vs. Bellarmine University at 7 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 29 vs. McKendree University of Illinois at 3 p.m.

Matches are in the De Simone Gymnasium of Sports and Activities Center. Again, admission is free to UW-Parkside students with a university ID, $5 for adults, $3 for high school students.

If you like your sport with a little more contact, the UW-Parkside rugby club team welcomes Michigan Tech to campus Saturday, Sept. 29, starting at 1 p.m. Fresh of an 84-0 pasting of the Milwaukee School of Engineering Sept. 15, and a match with the UW-Madison Blacks Sunday, Sept, 23, the Ranger ruggers play their next to last home game of the fall schedule at Highway E Field. Coached by alumnus Todd Streeter, the team plays at UW-Eau Claire Oct. 6, and at home against UW-Stevens Point Oct. 13 before, hopefully, starting the WISCARFU playoffs Oct. 20. Admission is free.

So, it's your choice this weekend: exciting men's soccer, women soccer, volleyball, or rugby at UW-Parkside. No matter which sport you pick, the rallying cry is always the same: Go Rangers!
