Mark your calendar: All faculty meeting Monday

Faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside will gather for a fall semester meeting Monday, Oct. 15, at noon in room 131 (the new lecture hall) of the Rita Tallent Picken Regional Center for Arts and Humanities. The agenda includes changes in university administration, an update on accreditation effort, and other topics. All faculty members are urged to attend.

"The all-faculty meetings are separate from the faculty senate meetings," Secretary of the Faculty Gary Wood explained in a recent email. "The all-faculty meeting is held once each semester and is typically devoted to a...discussion of issues of current interest."

Wood noted there are three faculty senate meetings each semester which are used to vote on policy resolutions and other matters.

The University Committee, in consultation with the Chancellor, has approved the following agenda:

New Business

A motion is on the floor to move to a committee of the whole to discuss matters of general interest according to UWPF 1.04(3). If the motion passes, the committee of the whole discussion will be chaired by the Chair of the University Committee. The committee of the whole may report recommendations representing a consensus of those present.

Topics for discussion will include the following:

  • Transitions in Senior Administration
  • Update on HLC Accreditation
  • Academic Plan Implementation
  • Legislative Relations and UW-Parkside Impact Report
Wood said the meeting is scheduled to end at 1:30 p.m. "We understand many of you have course obligations at 1. Please attend even if you will need to leave early," he stated, adding there may be an additional announcement regarding a room change.
