Leadership Assembly hears HLC update
At the Chancellor's Leadership Assembly on Wednesday, Dr. Kim Kelley and Dr. Rob Barber, HLC self-study co-chairs, provided an update and reviewed next steps in the reaffirmation of reaccreditation process.
"The self-study will be sent to the Higher Learning Commission at the end of January," Kelley told the group. "Between February and April we will finish the requirements for ensuring all of our data is accurate, all our supporting evidence is provided, all of it has been digitized, and it is all cataloged and available for our visiting team, both virtually and on site."
Barber encouraged academic departments to concentrate on a final review of chapters three and four when the revised self-study is available in November. The final review of the self-study will help the university produce recommendations for each chapter. "We'd like every chapter to end in two or three recommendations, concrete recommendations for us to work on," Barber said.
Those recommendations could be used to formulate the upcoming revision to the university's strategic plan.
In addition to the HLC update, Assistant Chancellor for University Relations and Advancement John Jaraczewski gave a detailed presentation on plans to upgrade the university's web presence, and Interim Human Resources Director Barb Farrar presented information on HR's move to more digital resources.
