UW-Parkside on Packer Playback

For the second year, UW-Parkside is using the popularity of Green Bay Packers radio broadcasts on WTMJ AM-620 Milwaukee to promote its high-quality academic programs.

Following each Packers game, the university is a featured sponsor on the post-game show, Packers Playback.

"Packer radio broadcasts deliver a large and varied audience," said John Mielke, director of communications in University Relations. "Being a sponsor not only allows us to get our academic programs in front of a big number of potential students and their families, it creates a very positive connection with the listener -- UW-Parkside, WTMJ, and the Green Bay Packers."

The tagline for the M.B.A. spot, "Knowledge Powers Your Career," and for the pre-health spot, "Knowledge Powers Your Success," reflect the new UW System marketing and promotional campaign, "Knowledge Powers."

"An emphasis of our communication strategy is building upon the strong reputation of the UW System," Mielke said. "The new campaign gives us a perfect opportunity to celebrate our University of Wisconsin heritage."

In addition to Packers Playback, the spots are featured during high school sports broadcasts on WRJN AM-1400 Racine, and WLIP AM-1050 Kenosha.

The combined listening areas of WTMJ, WRJN and WLIP cover the  majority of key geographic targets for the university's student recruitment initiatives.
