Priority item: Early priority registration Nov. 8

November 8 is an important date for University of Wisconsin-Parkside students and their advisors. On that Thursday, priority registration for spring semester begins.

"This is several weeks earlier than in previous years," said Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management DeAnn Possehl. "It's the result of the new academic calendar."

Nov. 8 is also the first day students can register for "Winterim" (winter interim) courses, Possehl noted.

During priority registration, students are assigned an earliest time to register based on the number of credits earned and, in some cases, on the program they are in. Students can find their earliest time for registration on SOLAR in the "Enrollment Dates" section on the right side of their Student Center. After that earliest time passes, they may register anytime until the registration period ends.

Here's a quick rundown of important dates:

Winterim 2013: Registration begins Thursday, Nov. 8

Spring 2013:Priority registration for degree-seeking students begins Thursday, Nov. 8

Spring 2013:Registration for Youth Options Program begins Monday, Nov. 26

Spring 2013:Registration for non-degree-seeking students begins Monday, Dec. 3

Possehl emphasized students must see their advisor before they can register for spring semester. Registration information and assistance are available by calling 262- 595-2284.
