Casting Call: UW-P students audition for “Made”

MTV

MTV "MADE" auditions on campus Wednesday.

The University of Wisconsin-Parkside Student Center Ballroom becomes a casting studio Wednesday when a producer from MTV's self-improvement reality TV series "MADE" comes to campus to interview students for upcoming episodes of the show.

"This is a really cool opportunity for students to share their experiences, and reflect on their goals and values," said Student Activities Coordinator Sarah Raidbard.

"The casting call will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom A."

Raidbard added students can sign-up for a 5-minute time slot in Student Activities.

The three-time Emmy-award-winning series follows teens who have a goal and want to be "made" into things like singers, athletes, dancers, skateboarders, etc. The series asks the question: What would truly make you happy in life?

Losing 50 lbs?

Breaking into showbiz?

Finding true love?

Starting your own business?

Landing a dream internship?

The program's promotional information states, "There are tons of students out there with unlimited potential. But in these difficult times, some are having trouble figuring out what their next step in life should be.

"We want to help create opportunities for these students to find their path. They have a great education, but they need real world experience. Or perhaps they need the inspiration to follow their true passion. In every episode they will have to make hard decisions and determine if the risks are worth the reward."

Again, the auditions are Wednesday, Oct. 31, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom A. Sign-up for a time slot in Student Activities.
