Bus service “vital and important” for campus
Getting to and from the UW-Parkside campus without getting into and out of a car is easier since the Sept. 1 start of bus service by Coach USA. The Racine Interfaith Coalition came to campus Tuesday, Oct. 30, to praise what the organization's Nancy Holmlund called "affordable, convenient bus service" and to encourage public support for greater public transit funding.
UW-Parkside Interim Director of Student Life Steve Wallner characterized the service connecting Tallent Hall to Kenosha, Racine, and Milwaukee a "vital and important stop to us." Wallner told Racine Journal Times reporter Luke Feuerherm, "This stop and partnership gives [faculty and students] the ability not to have a car on campus."
More about Tuesday's news conference is available on the Journal Times web site. More about bus service to and from UW-Parkside, including the daily and weekend schedules, is available on the university web site.
