William Ebben, Associate Professor of Health, Exercise Science, and Sport Management; published the paper titled "The optimal back squat load for potential osteogenesis" in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research. 26(5):1232-1237. 2012.

Steve Fleck, Associate Professor of Health, Exercise Science, and Sport Management; gave an invited keynote presentation titled "The Founders Presentation: The Real Health Benefits of Resistance Training." Professor Fleck, who is a recognized national and international expert in the area of resistance training, spoke at the annual meeting of the American College of Sports Medicine's Southwest Chapter Oct. 19, in Newport Beach, California

Jerry Greenfield, Emeritus Professor of History; had the article "Drought and Redemption in the Brazilian Northeast" accepted for publication in the Journal for the Study of Religion, Nature & Culture.  

Craig Frizzell, Politics, Philosophy, and Law Lecturer, conducted a straw poll of potential voters during the Election Experience "Speak Out" program Monday before the election. He wanted to gauge "Vote Intention," asking: "If you are planning on voting, who do you plan on voting for?" Of the 156 people surveyed, Democratic incumbent Barack Obama took 58 percent of the vote and Republican challenger Mitt Romney polled 31 percent with other candidates receiving 6 percent. Frizzell set the margin for error at +/- 7.85 percent. A complete list of straw poll results is available on the university web site.
