A pair of regional juggernauts will clash on the soccer pitch in third round of the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championships on Friday as the sixth seed University of Wisconsin-Parkside travels to Michigan to face top-seeded and No. 3 Grand Valley State University. Kickoff at the GVSU Soccer Field is slated for 5 p.m. (Eastern Time).

UW-Parkside (14-4-1) enters the Sweet 16 after blanking Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) rival William Jewell College, 2-0, on Friday, Nov. 9, before rallying to edge host and second-seeded Quincy University 2-1 on Sunday, Nov. 11. Grand Valley State (19-1-2), champions of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, received an opening round bye as the top seed before tallying three second half goals to knock out Rockhurst University 3-1.

"We gave the team a couple of days off after the Rockhurst (GLVC Tournament) game. The Friday of the GLVC semifinals, we scrimmaged against ourselves and it was pretty intense. I think that really kept us sharp heading into the NCAA Tournament," said UW-Parkside head coach Troy Fabiano, now in his 14th year at the helm, posting a career mark of 177-63-22.

The complete preview of Friday's NCAA Tournament game is available on the UW-Parkside athletics web site. The NCAA D2 women's soccer tournament pairings are also available online. Live video from the game as well as live stats will be available online when Friday's match begins.

GO RANGERS!
