The presidential views of University of Wisconsin-Parkside faculty and students are now known in Estonia. Six of our students along with Dean Yohnk, Jonathan Olsen, and James Kinchen were featured during Estonian Public TV's documentary "Valisilm esitleb Ameerika valik" which aired Tuesday, Nov. 13. The documentary is now available online.
A dozen of our students met with Neeme Raud, the U.S. correspondent for Estonian Public Broadcasting Thursday, Oct. 31, to talk about the Nov. 6 presidential election. The video shot here was part of a 50-minute documentary that aired after Election Day and contained footage of President Barack Obama's and challenger Mitt Romney's campaign visits to Milwaukee.
Our Communication Department colleague Fay Akindes said students enrolled in Communication, Ethnic Studies, and Political Science classes did interviews for the program. In addition to Yohnk, Olsen, and Kinchen, students Christian Becker, Kayleen Stritesky, Sibany Jackson, Teuta Zemaj, Gabriel Coronado, and Aubrey Gierahn along with Racine Walden High student McKim Stropes made the cut for the documentary. Their views were interspersed with footage from debates, speeches, and other campaign activities.
