Nearly 20 faculty and staff members dispensed study tips, pizza, and plenty of sweet treats to UW-Parkside students prepping for finals in Ranger Hall, the University Apartments, and Pike River Suites Tuesday's evening, Nov. 27, during fall semester House Calls. Along with sustenance for the body and mind, the group handed out food for the spirit as well, calling out "good luck" and encouraging students to study diligently as they prepare for the final exams that inevitably must come in the approaching weeks.
George Holman, director of Residence Life, was among those who knocked on doors at Pike River Suites, right along with resident assistants and faculty/staff volunteers.
"Everyone who attended Tuesday night's House Calls event enjoyed interacting with the students where they live," he enthused. "They got a chance to see what day-to-day life is like for students who live on campus."
Fall semester House Calls was organized by Adrienne Patmythes. It was her first major campus activity since arriving at UW-Parkside as assistant director of Residence Life on Nov. 1.
Holman and Patmythes were joined by faculty, staff, and student House Callers Amy Castelic, James Cosby, Mark Fleming, Ana Guerriero, Alex Hoftiezer, Mel Klinkner, Kyle Koerber, Sandy Leicht, Scott Menke, Jenna Nimmer, Peppy O'Neill, Amy Piekarski, Sarah Raidbard, Stephanie Sirovatka-Marshall, Nick Tryling, Kim White, and Pam Wisneski.
The event was so successful, Residence Life has already set Wednesday, March 13, 2013 as the date for the Spring Faculty and Staff House Calls. That event takes place from 6:15-9 p.m. and starts with pizza for the House Calls crew in the Pike River Suites Conference Room on the ground floor. Make plans to join us!
