UW-Parkside’s Elise Elmblad selected Miss Racine
University of Wisconsin-Parkside Applied Health Sciences major Elise Elmblad won the Miss Racine title Saturday, Jan. 5. Elmblad, fellow UW-Parkside students Alyssa Bohm, Stephanie Parco, and Tajai Turner, and six other contestants competed during a pageant at Starbuck Middle School.
Elmblad performed the song "Think of Me" from Broadway musical "The Phantom of the Opera." Her platform was "Share the Power of a Wish" and supported the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Contestants also took part in the swimsuit and evening gown competitions.
Elmbald's crowning moment was captured in a Racine Journal Times article.She will now compete for the Miss Wisconsin title beginning June 16 at the Alberta Kimball Auditorium in Oshkosh.
