UW-Parkside, IndSearch sign exchange agreement

"For our students to be successful in the 21st century economy, they have to have a global education."

Anyone who has heard University of Wisconsin-Parkside Interim Provost and former business dean Fred Ebeid talk knows this statement is never far from his lips. Recently, Ebeid turned those now-familiar words into action when he signed an exchange agreement linking the Kenosha campus with India's IndSearch on a pair of graduate programs.

The institutions signed memoranda of understanding (MOUs) connecting their master of business administration and Master of Science in Computer and Information System programs during a ceremony Thursday, Jan. 10, in Pune, India. UW-Parkside and IndSearch, an Indian institution specializing in business management education, have had a working relationship for several years and IndSearch Director Professor Ashok Joshi has visited our campus a number of times.

Established in 1973, IndSearch focuses on teaching, training, consultancy, and research in business management. Master's degree courses are offered there in business administration, information technology, human resource management, and marketing management. IndSearch's degrees are awarded by the University of Pune.

Ebeid is being accompanied on a portion of his India adventure by UW-Parkside Professor Parag Dhumal and students Andriew Fox, Debra Hickey, Sierra Regazzi, and Sergio Lechuga. Dhumal and the students are travelling in India as part of a "Winterim" study tour. Ebeid was also the "Chief Guest" and delivered the keynote address at the International Conference on Innovative Practices for Business Excellence on Monday, Jan. 14.
