“UWP-Wireless” & “eduroam” services now campuswide
With wireless "going live" recently in the Student Center, UW-Parkside now has campus-wide coverage with UWP-Wireless and eduroam. Eduroam is a secure, internationally federated wireless solution for higher education.
Here's what the change means for you and the benefits of using eduroam:
- To use wireless on campus, you no longer need to login each time you want to use it. If you have a UW-Parkside assigned laptop, it is set up to use the eduroam network automatically. You will be prompted to login using your user@uwp.edu username and password the first time and it will then maintain a connection across campus.
- If you visit other University of Wisconsin campuses or locations also using eduroam, you can connect to their eduroam network as if you're at UW-Parkside, without needing a separate username and password. Other locations can be found on the web.
Instructions on connecting a personal device to the eduroam network and for iOS devices are available online. More information about eduroam is also online.
If you have questions related to this change, email the Help Desk at servicedesk@uwp.edu or call extension 2444.
