It was a big weekend for the University of Wisconsin-Parkside athletic department with five teams in action including four competing at home on Saturday for Alumni Day.

The Ranger women's basketball team tipped 19th-ranked University of Indianapolis 77-75 on Saturday as Danielle Slivka hit a layup at the buzzer while the UW-Parkside men downed #15 UIndy 77-71. The win was the fourth-straight win for the men, who sit atop the Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division standings with a 9-2 record.

On the wrestling mats, Davion Willis won the individual title at 197 pounds while James Malechek prevailed at 285-pounds as the Rangers won the 29-team Pete Willson Invitational for the second straight season and the eighth time overall.

The Ranger women's track & field squad won five events and the team title at the third annual Parkside Classic while the men netted two provisional qualifiers en route to a second place finish.

UW-Parkside hosts its final wrestling dual of the season on Wednesday, taking on UW-Whitewater at 7 p.m. inside DeSimone Gymnasium in a battle for the Sake Bottle Trophy.
