Ranger Men's Basketball Extends Win Streak to Six
The Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division leading UW-Parkside men's basketball team downed #23 Kentucky Wesleyan 75-70 on Feb. 7 before edging #10 Southern Indiana 76-72 in overtime two days later. The Rangers hold a two-game lead in the East Division and have won six straight, including five wins over ranked squads.
The Ranger women's basketball team earned a split on the road last week. UW-Parkside fell 69-57 to KWC on Thursday, snapping a four-game win streak while dominating Southern Indiana 58-40 on Saturday to sweep the season series.
The wrestling squad downed UW-Whitewater 22-15 last Wednesday to reclaim the Sake Bottle Trophy while Davion Willis won his weight class on Saturday at the Blugold Open in Eau Claire, Wis.
The women's track & field team tallied several season best performances on Saturday at the Grand Valley State Big Meet in Allendale, Mich. while Jessica Watychowicz hit the provisional standard in the 5,000-meters. The Ranger men tallied a trio of top ten finishes at the GVSU Big Meet, led by the 4x400-meter relay team that placed fourth.
