Chili/Soup Cook Off winners: UW-Parkside students

The votes are in and the judges named three winners in Tuesday's Chili/Soup Cook Off.

On the chili side, Matthew Makarios' "All Pig Crime Scene Chili" recipe won him the coveted Golden Chili Ladle. The Veggie Black Bean Chili of John Standard placed second.

In the soup, Jeannine Brokmeier took first and second place. Her pizza soup, titled "Heather's Bailout," won the Soup Bowl traveling trophy and Jeannine's "Seafood Chowder" grabbed second. Both first place winners won gift certificates to local restaurants.

The big winners were UW-Parkside students. The event raised money for the  Alumni Scholarship Fund.
