Former University of Wisconsin-Parkside women's basketball stand-out Amy Selk was among the 13 student-athletes invited to attend the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Sports Endeavor Forum. The students, who covered the full spectrum of sports offered by GLVC member schools were invited to the event.
This professional development opportunity, funded by the NCAA Conference Grant Program, put an emphasis on highlighting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
"We are thrilled to be able to offer emerging leaders from our member institutions the opportunity to meet and learn from this distinguished panel of guests made up of respected sports professionals," said GLVC Commissioner Jim Naumovich prior to the forum. "The concept of the forum is to have our panelists, who represent gender and ethnic diversity in their respective fields, introduce our current student-athletes to different types of career opportunities they can pursue following graduation."
The event took place Feb. 16-18 at the Sheraton Indianapolis City Centre Hotel in downtown Indianapolis, Ind.
