#UWPCares Campaign celebrates the ways we give

We live our Hallmarks every day. They are central to who we are as a university and inform everything we do. The #UWPCares Campaign (pronounced "hash tag UWPCares") is a time to celebrate our commitment to Community Engagement and the many ways our campus gives back to the communities in which we live, work and learn. In using the "hash-tag" and the Twitter platform as well as our Facebook page, we are inviting our entire campus community to share their particular charitable interests. It is a highly social way to celebrate the precious act of giving back our individual gifts of time, talent or treasure.

As a Cabinet we want to share our appreciation and enthusiasm for the generous lives of service of so many in the UW-Parkside community. We invite you to log on to Twitter or Facebook to join in the celebration.

We also want to make you aware of a special volunteer opportunity that the United Way Committee is endorsing in our local schools called "Readers are Leaders" set for March 5 from 8-11 a.m. Although it is short notice, you still have time to register via United Way Committee member Connie Wheeler at wheelerc@uwp.edu via email. To be sure, those who are volunteering for "Readers are Leaders" will be tweeting their experience shortly after the event. For those who are not on Twitter, the RT will feature select tweets across the course of our campaign.

Show your Ranger Pride and tell us just how UWPCares!
