Johnson Scholarship: Snap-on invests in students

The University of Wisconsin-Parkside, in partnership with Snap-on Incorporated, is accepting applications for the Joseph Johnson Memorial Endowed Scholarship. The scholarship is open to current, new, or transfer students who are children or grandchildren of current Snap-on Incorporated employees and its franchisees.

"The scholarship covers half the cost of in-state tuition and is renewable up to four years, providing even more opportunity for our students," stated David Diaz, the university's director of development, "Snap-on Incorporated has been a long time partner with the university and continues to renew their commitment to helping our students succeed before and after graduation, all while honoring the legacy of Mr. Joseph Johnson."

The Joseph Johnson Memorial Endowed Scholarship is available for applicants who are current full-time University of Wisconsin-Parkside students taking at least 12 credits. It is also open to applicants who are admitted to the UW-Parkside no later than April 5, 2013, for the 2013-2014 academic year.

To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must have a high school grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.00 and an ACT score of 22 or higher. Current or transfer students must hold a cumulative college GPA of 3.00. Students must also have demonstrated leadership skills and participation in school and/or community activities.

The deadline to submit scholarship applications for the 2013-2014 academic year is May 5, 2013.
