Liz Snyder and Dave Walter as French Revolutionaries. |
The question was asked by Kenosha News reporter Elizabeth Synder: How do you transform two modern Americans into 19th century French rabble?
The answer: See our colleague Darice Damata-Geiger. Darice, the costume lab supervisor of the UW-Parkside Theatre Arts Department, helped transform Snyder and her Kenosha News co-worker Dave Walter into characters that would blend into a picture from the film "Les Misreables" for the paper's 2013 Oscar Contest photo.
As Snyder explained, "Damata-Geiger helped select just the right stuff for 'Les Miserables' by studying the musical before we showed up in the college's huge costume area, where they have rows and rows of hats, dresses, suits, blouses, and shoes from past productions."
The photos by Bill Seil, that were provided by Ms. Snyder, show the results of Darice's work.
