Thursday: The Korbonskis: Polish Freedom Fighters

The Friends of the UW-Parkside Library invite you to meet the tireless Cold War Polish freedom fighters Zofia and Stefan Korbonski. Thursday at 7 p.m., historian Anna Mazurkiewicz presents "Zofia and Stefan Korbonski: The engrossing story of two important World War II political exiles" in the Library's Overlook Lounge. During 40-plus years in exile, the Korbonskis worked to liberate Poland from the Soviets. Their work following an escape from Poland, as well as his stature within the American political establishment, is a story that remains still largely untold. Mazurkiewicz has pieced together the fascinating saga of the couple's life in exile. Admission is free.
