Make a house call…at UW-Parkside March 13

The University of Wisconsin-Parkside Office of Residence Life cordially invites all UW-Parkside faculty and staff to participate in Faculty & Staff House Calls Wednesday, March 13, starting at 6:15 p.m. But we need to hear from you soon!

This is an opportunity for faculty and staff to interact with residential students outside of the classroom in one of the three UW-Parkside residence halls. We'll start in the Pike River Suites conference room at 6:15 p.m. where participants are provided a light dinner. From there, we split into groups and visit one of the res halls.

Accompanied by a Residence Life staffer, participants go door-to-door at PRS, Ranger Hall, or the University Apartments to say "hello," pass out treats, and distribute educational materials. House Calls are an informal social program that allows faculty and staff to meet students in their living environment, to observe res halls on a weeknight, and tour UW-Parkside residential housing.

Research shows the many benefits of faculty/staff interaction with students outside the classroom, including greater retention and persistence to graduation, higher academic achievement, critical thinking, personal and intellectual development, educational aspirations, satisfaction with faculty, satisfaction with college, and improved perceptions of college quality.

Join us for this great community-building opportunity! Please RSVP by Monday, March 11, by contacting Adrienne Patmythes at patmythe@uwp.edu via email. If you have any questions, call Adrienne at extension 2320.
