Wanted: Your input on our next provost
The University Committee is working with Chancellor Debbie Ford to initiate the search for the new provost. The provost provides support, coordination, and leadership for the university's academic programs, including the four colleges and their departments, the Center for Community Partnerships, the UW-Parkside Library, Campus Technology Services, the Advising Center, Research Administration, and Educational Support Services.
"As a first step, we would like as much input as possible from the campus community," said University Committee Chair Jonathan Shailor. "[We want] your perceptions of the Provost's role and your expectations for how our new hire should fill that role."
Faculty and staff are asked to complete the online survey no later than Wednesday, April 24. The University Committee will then compile all responses to the survey and report them back to the campus community, both in full and in summary form.Survey results will also be "fed forward" into campus-wide discussions about the Provost search, and will serve as a resource as the position description is written. In addition, the survey results will be provided to the search committee with the expectation that this information will be taken into account during the search and screen process.
