Summer Maintenance Projects
It now appears that summer will eventually come to southeastern Wisconsin and the campus. As with most summers, Facilities Management will be hard at work doing the important maintenance that keeps the buildings and grounds working and looking great.
Greenquist Summer Elevator Work
The Department of State Facilities approved the renovation of the elevator in Greenquist Hall. The elevator will be out of service beginning Wednesday, May 20, and is scheduled for completion by Friday, Aug. 23. Elevators in Wyllie and Molinaro halls will make it possible for faculty, staff and students to access the Greenquist D2 and lower L1 floors during the elevator renovation. Lower D1 and upper D1 have ground-level access from exterior entrances. Upper L1, upper and lower L2 and upper and lower L3 will have stair access only. Directional signage will be posted in Greenquist, Molinaro and Wyllie halls.
Summer Asphalt / Concrete/ Lot Striping
Facilities Management will be doing summer maintenance work on the parking lots and sidewalks, including surface repairs and parking lot striping.
Tunnel Project Postponed
Repairs to the tunnel which runs from the heating and chilling plant east of Wood Rd. to the main academic complex will be postponed until the summer of 2014. That means the Wood Rd. roundabout will remain open this summer. According to Facilities Management, initial bids received for the project were over budget and the project will be redesigned and rebid next spring.
