Resolution of Appreciation – Dennis Bayuzick
Whereas, Associate Professor Dennis Bayuzick has served the Art Department and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with great distinction as a teacher, an artist, and the art education specialist in the department since he began his career over 30 years ago, and
Whereas, he has worked decades with students at UW-P and across the community in k-12 classrooms, and
Whereas, he has given the color purple a life deserving of much philosophical and aesthetic appreciation, and
Whereas, he has led many students into careers as art educators (or, at least, as more insightful users of oil paint and still life arrangements containing multiple reflective surfaces), and
Whereas, he has served as a valuable mentor to departmental colleagues and to those aspiring to brave the k-12 classroom setting as art educators, and
Whereas, he has enhanced the critical thinking skills, practical knowledge, and overall learning experiences of multiple generations of students, and
Whereas, he will leave his purple swirl signature on many surfaces and objects across campus to only be discovered by future generations, (really, I think in 10 years, we'll still be finding them--and we'll smile and reminisce.)Be it Resolved, that the Faculty of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside thanks him for his contributions and dedication, wishes him a very happy and fulfilling retirement, and hopes that he will maintain his connections to the University.
