The Small Business Development Center at UW-P
The Small Business Development Center at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside offers small business owners no-cost consulting, resources and workshops. Jim McPhaul, director of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and Associate Lecturer at UW-Parkside, along with program assistants Will Cray and Jeremy Mishork assist more than 300 small business owners and entrepreneurs in southeast Wisconsin. Business coaching and consulting, financial lending assistance, business and marketing plan development, business startup plans, market analysis, financial analysis, growth assistance for existing businesses and tech venture support are just some of the services that an increasing number of people are tapping into.
"We would be an outstanding first step for anyone interested in starting a business," said Will Cray, program assistant and no-cost consultant at SBDC. With locations in both Kenosha and Racine they offer a monthly two-hour class as well as courses ranging from 7, 10 to 14 weeklong series. They also offer workshops and business writing courses to help understand the clear picture of what it takes to run a successful business.
The SBDC can also provide new and potential small business owners with the opportunity to network with other like-minded people and business professionals within their community.
