Exterior Renovations for University Apartments
The following is an excerpt from information sent to residents of University Apartments regarding upcoming exterior construction projects.
During the summer of the 2012, the Office of Residence completed interior renovations of the University Apartments. We are now moving forward with the following exterior renovations:
- Replacing the older casement windows
- Replacing the Siding, Soffits, Fascia, and Gutters
- Replacing Caulk around windows/doors starting Sept. 4
- Replacing some exterior brick starting Sept. 4
- Power washing entire building starting Sept. 4
- Replacing the Roof starting Sept. 9
The renovations will cause some noise; therefore we have requested that exterior work happens between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. If contractors need to enter an apartment, a Residence Life staff member will escort the contractors. Throughout the project, Residence Life may contact you and ask that you pull items away from windows and doors to create space for contractors to work. We also ask that you avoid parking in the small lot on the north side of the apartments, as that will be staged next week for construction.
Updates regarding the project will be posted to Residence Life's Facebook page. Please check this page regularly for updates.
We understand that this project may cause some minor inconvenience to the students who live in this facility. We hope that you realize the importance of the project for those who will continue to live in the apartments in years to come. Please be patient as we attempt to improve the facility. Should you have any questions, problems or comments please speak to your Hall Director Dave Roberts, or contact the Housing office at 262-595-2320.
