UW System Board of Regents Meeting
UW-Parkside is hosting the October 2013 UW System Board of Regents meeting on campus Thursday, Oct. 10 and Friday, Oct. 11. The Regents will arrive Wednesday and meetings will begin Thursday morning at 9 a.m. in the University Ballroom. An outline of the agenda is available online.
The business portion of the meeting takes place in the university's Student Center Ballroom and adjacent conference rooms. Thursday evening, the regents and invited guests, including members of the Wisconsin legislature from Kenosha and Racine counties, have the opportunity to attend brief concerts by UW-Parkside classical and jazz musicians, along with a sampling of the upcoming Theatre Arts presentation "The Importance of Being Earnest." The concerts and theatre presentation will be held in the Rita Tallent Picken Regional Center for Arts and Humanities.
"The men and women on the Board of Regents have a passion for education and they truly understand what education means to hundreds of thousands of people in Wisconsin," said UW-Parkside Chancellor Debbie Ford. "I know I speak for our entire campus community when I say that UW-Parkside is excited and proud to host the Board of Regents."
There will be areas of the parking lots reserved for the Regents Meetings. Please note that there is additional parking in Lot T (north of Tallent) and there will be shuttles running all day.
The diagrams of parking lots A and B (links below) indicate portions of those lots that will be reserved for the Regents meeting (hi-lited in green).
In Lot B (west of the Rita Tallent Picken Regional Center for Arts and Humanities) there are 10 faculty/staff reserved spaces that will be used for the Regents meeting. The UW-Parkside Police and Public Safety Department has given approval for individuals who use faculty/staff reserved spaces in Lot B to use faculty/staff reserved spaces in Lot A (east of the Student Center).
Reserved parking permits are valid in the non-reserved portions of lots A, B, C, D, E and T.
