Students Tell Us What Makes UW-P Real, Amazing
With enrollment growth for freshman growing by 7% and continued improvement in the profile of the new freshman class; we wanted to know what it is that makes UW-Parkside real, amazing for our students.
Meet Alexis Jordan, a freshman from Milwaukee here at UW-Parkside.
Alexis is living on campus in Ranger Hall and working in admissions, and is absolutely loving her first semester. I sat down with her to find out what makes UW-Parkside real, amazing for her.
What drew you to UW-Parkside?
When I was a senior in High-School people from the University came to my school to talk about UW-Parkside and then took us on a tour of the campus. I've always loved nature so the campus drew me in almost immediately. It has such beautiful surroundings. I was also impressed with the amount of outreach programs; it seemed like everywhere I looked there was someone or someplace to help if I had any questions.
What do you love most about UW-Parkside now that you're settled into your first semester?
I love the professors I have; they all have such high energy and are more than happy to help you. I also think it would be the general feel of the students and staff here at Parkside. Everyone is so inviting so that makes being away from home so much easier. The food is really great too. It's definitely not your typical cafeteria food! There are so many options.
What do you tell your friends back home about UW-Parkside and your experience here?
I keep telling my best friend she should come here! I've had such a great experience here so far and I'm excited to share that with my friends. I'm definitely encouraging them to come to UW-Parkside.
