Students Tell Us What Makes UW-P Real, Amazing
With enrollment growth for freshman growing by 7% and continued improvement in the profile of the new freshman class; we wanted to know what it is that makes UW-Parkside real, amazing for our students.
Meet Madeline Seefeldt, a freshman from Kenosha majoring in biology here at UW-Parkside.
I sat down with Madeline to find out why she chose UW-Parkside and what makes it real, amazing for her.
What drew you to UW-Parkside?
I knew they had a great biology program and that's what I was interested in. When I came to campus I met with Dr. Lewis who was so excited about the program and everything it has to offer. It was his excitement about the program and high energy that persuaded me to pursue UW-Parkside.
Now that you're settled into your first semester, what makes UW-Parkside such a great fit for you?
I love that the campus is so huge but all the building are still connected. I also love the smaller class sizes, it allows you to build a rapport with your professors that I don't think you'd be able to anywhere else. The diversity among the students is pretty amazing too, and unexpected. I never thought I would meet so many people from different countries in my classes; it's a great experience to be learning from those students and learning with them at the same time.
What do you tell your friends about UW-Parkside and your experience here?
I have a few friends who are interested in pursuing biology so I've been telling them about the classes I've been taking so far. Also that the campus is huge, it's kind of tucked away so many people don't realize how big the campus actually is. There is always something going on too!
