Students Tell Us What Makes UW-P Real, Amazing
Meet Eric DuCharme a senior from West Bend majoring in business management and MIS here at UW-Parkside. He is a transfer student from MATC in Madison and chose UW-Parkside because of the business program and the opportunities offered within his major.
Eric recently participated in a tour of FedEx's North Chicago Automated Facility for Professor Abey Kuruvilla's Operations Management class. It's these out-of-classroom opportunities that drew Eric to UW-Parkside.
"These types of tours and reviews of organizations like FedEx," Eric said, "are amazing opportunities for UW-Parkside students to experience engaged learning, and turn theory to practice by witnessing real-life instances of what they are learning in the classroom."
For Eric it's the community projects that stem from the partnerships UW-Parkside has within the community, as well as the relationships he has built with his professors and advisers that create a real, amazing learning experience. He's had the opportunity to intern for WE Energies, helped The Arc of Racine build and maintain its website in an ongoing partnership, and has had countless networking opportunities. Moving toward graduation in May, Eric hopes to find a career in in the MIS field.
