Master Plan Feedback Sessions Set
As the university begins updating the 2006 Campus Master Plan, feedback sessions for faculty, staff, students, and community members will be held Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 18 and 19.
Faculty-staff workshops take place Monday, Nov. 18, from 9 to 11 a.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 1 to 3 p.m. Both sessions will be in the Student Center Ballroom and refreshments will be served.
The consultant team will present at the Parkside Student Government meeting from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, in the Student Center Oak Room. Tuesday, Nov. 19, the consultant team will be in the Brickstone Grill & Eatery during the noon hour to solicit student input.
A community open house will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, in the Student Center Ballroom. Parking will be free in Lot A immediately east of the Student Center.
Consultants will be seeking input on the perceptions of the university. The consultant team includes SmithGroup JJR of Madison (master planning services), Workshop Architects of Milwaukee (architectural services), Paulien & Associates of Denver (space planning services), and Ring & DuChateau of Milwaukee (engineering services).
The Master Plan will be based on a university space-needs projection which is currently being prepared by Paulien & Associates. A feasibility study identifying the scope and budget of a future "Student Success Project" that includes remodeling of portions of Wyllie Hall, is being prepared by Workshop Architects.
In addition to the sessions next week, the university will utilize "MindMixer," an online engagement platform to gather input throughout the master planning process.
