Arts & Humanities Vist Day is Dec. 7. Be there!

Friday, Dec. 7 from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m., the University of Wisconsin-Parkside opens the doors of "The Rita" for Arts and Humanities Visit Day. This one-day event welcomes prospective students to experience the university's artistic, musical, and theatrical programs and explore Communication, English, and other exciting, career-building areas of study. The campus is located at 900 Wood Rd. in Kenosha.

"We think of this as the 'insider' view of the university, the one we give students who really want to dig deep and enjoy every opportunity UW-Parkside has to offer," said DeAnn Possehl, Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management. "We have a beautiful new building designed specifically to showcase our students and on Arts and Humanities Visit Day we will share it with everyone."

During UW-Parkside Arts and Humanities Visit Day, participants can:

  • Experience unique theater, art, and music events;
  • Meet faculty from Fine Arts, Communication, Music, English, Theatre, Ethnic Studies, Modern Languages, and more; and
  • Tour the new Rita Tallent Picken Regional Center for Arts and Humanities ("The Rita") and the campus

Possehl said visitors to Arts and Humanities Visit Day also get tips and ideas to guide them through the audition and portfolio review process, information on financial aid and scholarship opportunities, and on-site admission. This event is free and open to high school juniors and seniors as well as adults considering starting or completing their education.
