UW-P Alumni hold ‘After Hours’ in Gurnee Jan. 4
The University of Wisconsin-Parkside Alumni Association (UWPAA) adds a little spice to Alumni After Hours by holding the monthly networking and mentoring event at Spice Restaurant/Lounge. Located inside of the newly remodeled Holiday Inn at 6161 W. Grand Ave. in Gurnee, the event takes place Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. There are free appetizers and a cash bar.
Designed to reconnect alumni with UW-Parkside by meeting and networking with fellow graduates, the event is open to all alumni and current seniors.
Alumni Association Board member Kim Wright-Wooten was instrumental in helping AAH cross the border. As an instructor at the College of Lake County and at UW-Parkside, she sees students transfer to UW-Parkside and the graduates who return to live in Illinois.
"We are looking forward to having our Illinois graduates to help us 'spice it up' in Gurnee!" Wright-Wooten said.
The UW-Parkside Alumni Association has 20,000 members who share a lifelong connection with the Kenosha campus. The UWPAA works to keep graduates involved in the university and encourages the participation of future alums by including graduating seniors in all the events the association organizes. The UWPAA gives back to UW-Parkside by offering scholarships and awards to students, alumni, and faculty. More information on the UWPAA is available by visiting http://www.uwp.edu/alumni.cfmonline.
