“UWP-Wireless” & “eduroam” services now campuswide
With wireless "going live" recently in the Student Center, UW-Parkside now has campus-wide coverage with UWP-Wireless and eduroam. Eduroam is a secure, internationally federated wireless solution for higher education.
Here's what the change means for you and the benefits of using eduroam:
firstname.lastname@example.org or call extension 2444.
- To use wireless on campus, you no longer need to login each time you want to use it. If you have a UW-Parkside assigned laptop, it is set up to use the eduroam network automatically. You will be prompted to login using your email@example.com username and password the first time and it will then maintain a connection across campus.
- If you visit other University of Wisconsin campuses or locations also using eduroam, you can connect to their eduroam network as if you're at UW-Parkside, without needing a separate username and password. Other locations can be found on the web.
