Bob Rayburn
PO Box 118
Cougar, WA  98616

Retired from Clark County Sheriff's Office with 30 years of service.
All my education after HS pertained to Criminal Justice. I received by Associate Degree, up to a Master's, then graduated from the National F.B.I. Academy.

My wife Loretta (class of '58 FVHS), retired also. She was a paralegal at the Vancouver Office of the Washington State Attorney's General.

Upon retiring we built our mountain home east of Cougar, WA where we live eight months of the year. The rest of the year, from January to May, is spent at our home in Green Valley, AZ.

We have 3 children and 7 grandchildren.

We enjoy all outdoor sports from hiking and 4-wheeling to snowmobiling. A favorite thing to do is watching the grandchildren in the various sports they are playing.

Richard Reichsfield

After retiring from the legal and political world I now live part of the year in Italy and part of the year in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In Italy I live in Courmayeur, a small village at the base of Mt. Blanc in the NW corner of Italy, where it adjoins France and Switzerland.

In Italy I travel and ski. I help out my kids in their travel business a bit scouting some new places to send Americans on vacation.

When in Fort Lauderdale, my son and I spend some time fishing and getting rid of those little umbrellas in tropical drinks, as his wife allows. We have a boat. When we figure the per pound cost for fish caught we are right around $15,000 per pound.

When in the USA I visit my daughter and her family in Calabasas, CA and when I can, go skiing with them at their house in Park City where we are trying to get my grandkids to ski as fast as their mom did in the 1992 Olympics.

Other than that I travel a bit as the whim strikes and the wars allow.

If you get to Italy let me know, get in touch and say hello.

Suzanne (Ryan) Roberts
email: homeinstead@uswest.net

Web: http://www.suzanneroberts.net/

After raising four children, Sue Ryan Roberts completed her undergraduate degree and began her second career as a counselor and information/referral specialist for Southwest Washington Hospitals in Vancouver, Washington.  Her human services experience broadened in l982 when she accepted a job in the San Francisco office of a national employee assistance program.  She took a three year break on Maui, Hawaii, returning to Portland in l990 as a nurse recruiter for Hawaiian hospitals.

Sue remarried in l995.  Ten months after her marriage, her mother had a heart attack, followed by severe dementia. Within a year of her mothers crisis, her father was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. Suzanne began attending Children of Aging Parents and Alzheimers support groups. After a particularly intense CAP meeting Suzanne came home and announced, I have just been with a group of bright, capable adults who wouldnt know a boundary if it hit them in the head!! I am going to write a book! Coping in New Territory, the Handbook for Children of Aging Parents was published in April of 2000.  The third edition came out in April of 2005.  In June of 2006 the book was accepted by Barnes&Noble Small Press Department for distribution within their stores.

At the advanced age of 60, as the book was taking shape, Sue discovered Home Instead Senior Care.  Her career path and her degree in Human Services made her a perfect match to buy the West Portland Metro franchises of this Non-Medical In Home Care business. Good choice!  Today, Home Instead (www.homeinstead.com) is the worlds largest provider of home care services for seniors with 690 offices in 10 countries.  As her day job, Sue runs this highly successful business producing an average annual growth of 28% over the last seven years.

Update, 2006:

Sue keeps a very busy schedule.  She regularly appears as an interview guest on talk radio and television shows around the country. She has spoken to audiences from Florida to Washington State.  Her offerings range from a 30 minute book signing event to a half-day workshop.  Sue facilitates two monthly Children of Aging Parents meetings in Portland. She has even turned her information around for presentation to aging parents as they deal with their micro-managing adult children!!  Sue wears many hats; business owner, writer, lecturer and media talent.  She is having the time of her life, although there are days when she envies those of you who are touring Europe, sitting by a pool or sleeping in.

Hi 1956 classmates. Isn't retirement wonderful!  This picture was taken in Peoria, AZ at a Mariners spring training game. What fun.
Rick and I owned 'The Office' restaurant, lounge and tavern in Hazel Dell and sold it in 1997. I retired as a Fort Vancouver High secretary in 2002 after 20+ years with the school district. We have three children with great families and each have 2 children from 8th grade to Jr in college.
Two years ago we bought a place in ViewPoint Resort in Mesa AZ and spend 5 winter months in paradise. We both love and thrive in the warmth and sunshine. I even learned to play tennis. Can you believe that?
We have the 'old' Anderson property at Ocean Park WA. Where we have put a modular home and retreat some in the summer. We LOVE to travel with our Good Sam RV group and last summer we caravanned with 19 other RVer's, 21,000 miles to the East Coast for three months of seeing unbelievable, wonderful, and interesting places.
We have lived in the same house in Vancouver for 46 years and  I love my gardening and greenhouse. We have traveled to Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia, all over Mexico (Rick loves Puerto Vallarta), cruised to Alaska, Panama Canal, and the Caribbean.
We feel very blessed and hope and pray our health holds so we can enjoy more travel and friendships wherever we may go. I love to keep in touch with friends.

Two years of college allowed me to enter an air force cadet program. I went through navigator training and radar intercept officer school. I went to FIOI's at Klamath Falls, Oregon for 2.5 years before finally getting to pilot training, class of 64, Webb AFB, Big Spring, TX.

I flew mostly C-130's out of Tachikawo A.B. Japan for three years. Half of the time I spent flying in Viet Nam.

After 10 years active duty, I left the Air Force for the airlines. I started with Western A.L. in March of '69.

After 18 years with Western, it was purchased by Delta and I spent 9 years with them before retiring in 1995. I had a good career, really enjoyed it for the most part.

I and Vicki (3rd  wife) live in the original Sun City, AZ (14 years so far.) In 1997, I went to Moscow, Russia to tour the city, including the Kremlin, and to fly the Mig 29.

I have a son in North Augusta, SC, a daughter and grandson in Arvada, CO, and adopted daughter and two grandson's in Riverton, UT, and an adopted daughter and grandson in Myrtle Beach, SC.

I play tennis 5-7 days a week and occasionally embarrass myself in the golf course.

Dear Classmates,

It seems that time gets away... the reunion is over and I still didn't get my bio in.  But it is better late than never.  Life is good, as many of you have indicated in your bio's.  Mine has brought me six children, (3 sons and 3 daughters) - seventeen grand children ( 7 girls and 10 boys) - no great-grand children and still NO gray hair.  I moved to Utah 27 years ago and love the change.  I retired from 25 years working in Financial Services of the LDS Church  in 2001.   My time has been spent traveling a little, enjoying my grand babies a lot, volunteering, doing a lot of church work and doing genealogy every day.  Would love to hear from you - e-mail: jolene_f@juno.com.  Enjoyed reading about you. Take care, ....

Love,  Jolene

At our 50th reunion I seem to have arrived at what I anticipated in 1956, but the journey was certainly not what I expected.

In 1956 I saw my future as:  going to college, meeting "Mr. Right" and living happily ever after.  (So much for the Cinderella story).  I went to college, married in the middle of my sophomore year, moved to Seattle in 1961; had a son in 1960, a daughter in 1962; divorced in 1972.

I earned  a BA from UW in 1972, and a MSW in 1974.  I worked as a geriatric social worker, consultant and state regulator and administrator, retiring in 2004.

Meanwhile, I was searching for a life partner.  After a couple of major detours and dead ends, I met my husband, Phil, in 1996.  Our common interest at the time was sailing.  Now our pursuits are home projects and travel.  I also enjoy landscaping our yard, gardening and taking care of my 3 year old grandson.

I attended Clark College after graduation for two years and graduated in machine shop training. I worked in small machine shops in the Portland area for about 4 years. I spent the rest of my career working for the US Army Corps of Engineers on mechanical maintenance crews on four different hyro-electric plants. I retired in 1993 from Lower Granite Lock and Dam from the mechanical maintenance foreman position.

I've been married to my wife Glenda for the past 30 years. She is retired from Washington State University after more than 30 years of service. We have a combined family of 6 children, 18 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. We live about four miles south of Clarkston, WA overlooking the Snake River.

We enjoy traveling, camping in our RV, visiting friends and relatives, golfing (Dave), shopping (Glenda), happy hours, and spoiling our two dogs. We spend about 6 months each year at our Clarkston home and the rest of our time traveling or at our winter home in Casa Grande, AZ.

Meredith (Worden) Noble
926-120th St. NW
Gig Harbor, WA  98332

Married, two children, one grandson.

My husband was a pilot for Air America and we spent many years over-seas including Vientiane, Laos fighting a secret war alongside the Vietnam war and being rescued off the roof of our home by helicopter during a flood. In Taipei, Taiwan I taught English to college students and adults to help them become comfortable in our language. We were assigned to Saigon, South Vietnam. I began teaching elementary school and lived through the Tet Offensive when Communist soldiers entered the city.

Our next adventure was Sand Point, Alaska, a small island in the Aleutians. With a move to Anchorage I found work in Catering and Sales at the Anchorage Westward Hilton hotel. Next stop was Africa -- Khartoum, Sudan and I was given the challenge of being General Manager of the American Club.

Retirement years found us in Gig Harbor, WA. We opened a Bed and Breakfast (www.fountainsbb.com)  My husband died in 1998. Our Air America "family" talked me into going to a reunion and I was introduced to Bob Noble from New York. Thus began a long distance romance. We were married February 5, 2005. Our life together is special, exciting and very precious.

Am looking forward to August 25-26 and catching up on old times.

Meri

I retired in 1999 and moved to Federal Way. Every since, my wife Marian and I have been involved in volunteer mission projects mainly in Africa. We have been to Africa 7 times, living in Zambia for 6 months, doing two projects in Congo and 4 projects in Liberia. The people of Africa have really captured our hearts and we hope to be going back in 2007.

We love to travel and have been to Austria, Germany, Mexico, and Hawaii. This year we are doing some travels in the US. Skiing has been a main focus for us, and we have gone with the Bremerton Ski Club to special ski areas each winter.
