What is your professional background or your role prior to becoming an Alumni Relations Manager?

I have a professional background in both criminal justice and higher education. I have worked in human services, law enforcement, corrections and now higher education. Prior to becoming an Alumni Relations Manager, I was serving as an Academic & Career Advisor here at UW-Parkside. I also work part-time in booking at Kenosha County Jail.

What were some highlights of your time as a UW-Parkside student?

During my time as a student at UW-Parkside, I was heavily involved as a student leader. I was involved in various departments including Residence Life (RA), Peer Health Educators, Student Activities, Diversity Circles, Greek Life and the Parkside Police Department. I can honestly say my involvement as a student leader changed my life and helped me find my love and passion for higher education and working with students.

What are you looking forward to as a UW-Parkside Alumni Relations Manager?

I am looking forward to working with the amazing Advancement and Alumni Relations Team and working with alumni across the nation. With having a new Vice Chancellor, 2 new alumni relations managers, and more new staff coming on board, there is a lot of potential and room for new initiatives and engagement! I can’t wait to connect and meet new and current alumni as well as getting our juniors and seniors involved. Our opportunities are endless – so we want to hear from you!

Anything else you want alumni to know about you?

I am a proud alum from class of 2012 (Criminal Justice), a member of Gamma Alpha Omega Sorority Inc., and I love new ideas and initiatives. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with ideas on how you want to get engaged as alumni! Please join us for our 4th annual Parkside Day on April 16th! #GoRangers

What is your professional background or your role prior to becoming an Alumni Relations Manager?

Before becoming an Alumni Relations Manager I was an elementary school teacher for 3 years.

What were some highlights of your time as a UW-Parkside student?

I enjoyed my time as a UW-Parkside student and I have several stories to choose from. However, a couple of my top favorite highlights were living on our beautiful campus and making memories as a resident and RA in Ranger Hall. I forged lifelong friendships through clubs such as Black Student Union, Intervarsity, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. My communication classes and professors were always amazing! Helping organize Comm Week and giving back through community-based learning (CBL) classes were great experiences.

What are you looking forward to as a UW-Parkside Alumni Relations Manager?

As an Alumni Relations Manager, I’m looking forward to interacting with fellow alumni.  Discovering how they applied what they learned while at UW-Parkside to their professional and personal lives, and what adventures they’ve had since graduating is what I’m excited for the most.

Anything else you want alumni to know about you?

I’m excited to be back on campus. There have been major changes since I graduated 3 years ago. I love Parkside and can’t wait to hit the ground running. GO RANGERS!!!
