International Students Transferring to UW-Parkside from a Different University

International students transfer to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside (UW-Parkside) must complete the following steps to be considered for admission:

1. ONLINE APPLICATION

√   Submit online application for admission found at apply.wisconsin.edu.  

First steps of the application:

  • Select "Register as a new user" and complete the form.
  • Choose "Create a New Application"
  • Under "Applying To:", choose "UW-Parkside"
  • Under "Citizenship: Are you a U.S. citizen?" international students should select "No" and choose their U.S. Residency Status. 
  • New students who live outside the United States and are looking to apply for the first time should select "Need to Apply for Student Visa (not residing in US)"
2. APPLICATION FEE

√   Submit application fee; paid electronically during the application process.

3. PRIORITY DEADLINES
  • Students applying for the Fall semester (beginning in September) are encouraged to complete the application process by May 30.
  • Students applying for the Spring semester (beginning in February) are encouraged to complete the application process by November 15.
4. RECORDS OF PREVIOUS SCHOOLING

For consideration of transfer credit from colleges and universities outside of the United States, transcripts must be evaluated by a professional service.  This service will send the official results directly to UW-Parkside. By completing the service's subject analysis evaluation, students may gain university credit before they arrive to UW-Parkside!  

Submit:

√  Official or certified copies of transcripts (mark sheets) must be translated into English.

√  Course-by-course (minimum) or subject analysis (preferred) evaluation (approximately $210 USD) from one of the following:

5. TESTING
Students from non-English-speaking countries must demonstrate proficiency in English.  Note: English proficiency may be demonstrated in the following ways, which include but are not limited to:
  • Minimum TOEFL score of 71 (internet based), or 525 (paper-based)
  • Minimum IELTS score of 5.5 
  • Minimum EIKEN score of 2304
  • An ACT English subscore of 23 or higher
  • Submission of transcripts from an American secondary school or accredited American university, with grades of a B or better in English coursework
  • Transcripts documenting graduation from an American secondary school from an accredited American University
  • Documentation of international student exchange to an English-speaking country with demonstrates successful completion of English coursework
Students from English-speaking countries (list of English-speaking countries), no English Proficiency Examination Scores are required.

6. FINANCIAL SPONSORSHIP

Students must certify that they have enough financial support for the first full year ($28,500 USD).  Students may have more than one sponsor, if they choose. Note: Photocopies and FAX of these documents cannot be accepted.

Submit:

√   Sponsorship Statement Form for International Students

  • This form must be notarized/certified.

√  Bank statements clearly showing each sponsor's financial resources.

7. CONDITIONAL ADMISSION

The University of Wisconsin-Parkside is able to offer conditional admission to undergraduate and graduate applicants who meet academic and financial requirements and are enrolled in our ELS Program.  Students must demonstrate completion of the ELS level 112 intensive program – English for academic purpose for full admissions consideration.  The ELS program is conveniently located right at our university.

8. COPY OF PASSPORT

Submit:

√  A clear, easy-to-read copy of the photograph page of your passport

√  If you have a current U.S.-issued visa, please submit a copy of that page
