Description:

Science Night

Wednesday, Sept. 13, UW-Parkside is holding a Science Night at 7 p.m. in the student cinema titled Mathematical Modeling in Nature. Many scientists from different epochs, beginning in antiquity to today, have proved the universality of mathematics as a “language of nature.” We know that the formulation of fundamental natural laws and of technological problems can always be written in terms of mathematical equations. But how can we use this knowledge to understand the nature? Ranis Ibragimov explores this question.

Ranis Ibragimov is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. Dr. Ibragimov’s principle interest is in mathematical modeling and research in applied mathematics.
