This course will focus on methods for analyzing and intervening in conflicts. We will begin with an exploration of the role of emotions in conflict, and will look at some ways of working more effectively with our emotions. Then we will learn how to analyze conflicts at the macro and micro levels. We will receive an introduction to negotiation skills, and to third-party interventions, including mediation. Finally, we will explore the practice of forgiveness and reconciliation.
This is a blended course that meets twice face-to-face: first on February 28 and then on March 28. All other coursework is to be completed online between the in-person meet dates.
