The University of Wisconsin-Parkside invites applications for the Educator Recruitment Coordinator position in the Institute of Professional Educator Development in the College of Social Sciences and Professional Studies.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience with program development and coordination

  • Experience developing recruitment strategies and marketing materials (web and print), including but not limited to e-newsletters, website content, social media, brochures and flyers

  • Experience in adult education

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective professional working relationships with individuals at all organizational levels both with the campus community and with external institutions, community leaders, agencies and others

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse students (PK-12 through adult)

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience working at an institution of higher education

  • Experience working with PK-12 students and/or staff

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This position reports to the Director of Advanced Professional Development within the Institute for Professional Educator Development (IPED), and will be responsible for recruitment programs for educators as they relate to alternative route certification programs, license renewal courses and workshops, K12 students to explore the profession of education. This position will work collaboratively with the IPED faculty and staff, UW Parkside admissions counselors, and partner organizations including PK-12 school districts, technical colleges and two year institutions. This position requires flexibility to maintain a schedule that would include travel, occasional weekends and evening work assignments.

  • Develop and coordinate recruitment programs for educator alternative route certification including the Technology Education and Pre-Engineering licensure program, License by Equivalency (LbE) content programs, Professional Development Plan workshops, Initial Educator Induction programs, and courses/workshops supporting the professional development of educators in southeastern Wisconsin.

  • Develop and implement programs to recruit underrepresented populations into all levels of education licensure programs.

  • Develop and coordinate the IPED Alumni Network programs and services.

  • Serve as the university liaison to regional high school Future Educators of America (FEA) and similar organizations including the coordination of events between FEAs and UW Parkside Educator Preparation students.

  • Develop and implement support sessions for educators in licensure programs as they relate to Praxis CORE, Praxis II, Foundations for Reading, EdTPA, Educator Effectiveness, core content, and others as identified.

  • Collaborate with UW Parkside Enrollment Management and University Relations to conceptualize and coordinate marketing materials for distribution to regional high schools, technical colleges and two-year institutions.

  • Represent IPED at internal and external admissions events.

  • Experience with recruitment techniques and practices.

  • Experience with program development and coordination.

  • Experience in development of marketing materials including web-based and print items, including but not limited to, e-newsletters, website content, social media, brochures and flyers.

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective professional working relationships with individuals at all organizational levels, both with the campus community and with external institutions, community leaders, agencies and others.

  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple work assignments and projects.

  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to participate in work groups; coordinate, develop and implement projects.

  • Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems.
