Position Summary
Reporting to the Controller/Director of Business Services, the Financial Specialist III provide leadership, transactional service and consultation for staff in an assigned program area to support program financial management. Over multiple areas within the finance and procurement field, this position will monitor financial transactions, fund balances, and generates and reconciles complex reports and statements in accordance with established rules and regulations. Serves as a unit liaison to leadership providing financial advice, recommendations, and financial status updates.

Essential Job Functions
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviews and approves complex transactions and assigns funding codes in accordance with established rules, regulations, and policies
- Reallocates expenses to appropriate funding strings
- Drafts communications and reports and maintains organization of varied records to provide administrative support within a specified work unit
- Answers complex fiscal questions and provides information based on set materials and standards to various audiences
- Executes, audits and completes financial transactions
- Reviews processing internal controls
- Job duties are representative of multiple areas within the finance and procurement field and this position provides financial advice, recommendations and financial status updates for a work unit.
- Recommends process improvements and troubleshoots complex financial errors.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS, EDCUATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or commensurate with 5 years of accounting, finance or business administration experience.
