Position Title: Human Resources Assistant

Employment Type: Full-time

Reports To: The Human Resources Assistant will report to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Human Resources, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

Pay Range: $39,998 - $43,680


Essential Job Functions

This is an entry-level HR position that performs routine human resources activities and provides general administrative support in more than one functional area such as recruitment, classification, payroll and benefits for a work unit. Serves as a resource contact disseminating information on rules, regulations, procedures, and statutes.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Reviews and provides support and guidance to HR specialists and generalists, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise.
  • Partner with departments on the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborates with departments to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Work closely with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion on trends and best practices in recruitment and hiring.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s Degree

Although not required, the successful candidate for this position will possess familiarity with state and local government environments and/or higher education institutions.
