Position Title: Human Resources Manager

Employment Type: Full-time

Reports To: The Human Resources Manager will report to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Human Resources, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

Pay Range: $55,000 - $65,000


Essential Job Functions

Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Human Resources, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, the Human Resources Manager will help lead and direct the routine functions of the HR department including hiring and interviewing staff, payroll, leave benefits, worker’s compensation, diversity and inclusion, and employee relations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Reviews and provides support and guidance to HR specialists and generalists, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise.
  • Partner with departments on the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborates with departments to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Work closely with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion on trends and best practices in recruitment and hiring.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management or Business
  • At least five years of human resources management experience
  • SHRM-CP, SCP, PHR, or SPHR highly recommended

Although not required, the successful candidate for this position will possess familiarity with state and local government environments and/or higher education institutions.

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
