Position Title: Diversity and Inclusion Specialist (LGBTQIA+ Resource Center Specialist)

Employment Type: Full-time, Salaried, Non-Instructional Academic Staff

Reports To: The LGBTQIA+ Resource Center Specialist will report to the Associate Director of Multicultural Initiatives

Pay Range: $46,000 to $55,000 (commensurate with experience)

Essential Job Functions

The LGBTQIA+ Resource Center Specialist is responsible for the development and delivery of programs supporting the LGBTQIA+ campus community, and provides resources, support, and interventions, as needed, for students with identity / gender-based issues and concerns. The Specialist will assess student needs and will work with student staff within the Center and various equity, diversity and inclusion partners across campus to develop programs and services to meet those needs as they pertain to sexual orientation, sexual identity, gender identity/expression, and issues of marginalization. The Specialist develops campus wide training opportunities and educational materials that promote an inclusive campus environment. The Specialist oversees the daily operations of the Center in the newly renovated Student Success and Learning Commons. 

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will minimally possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • 1-3 years of experience in student services, student programming, and/or student development with an emphasis on LGBTQIA+ and/or gender-based programming and services (graduate school experience counts)
  • Experience working with and understanding equity, diversity, and inclusion and intersecting identities
